Formal Chat sessions are your opportunity to interact with product teams directly. During a Formal Chat session, key personnel from a product team currently running a beta test are invited to the Beta Chat Room. The participants are different each time, but may include the Project Manager (PjM), the Product Manager (PdM), the QA lead, the lead developer, or other key rolls.
To attend a Formal Chat session:
Go to the Beta Chat Room at 8pm Eastern Time on the scheduled day.
Click on the Formal Chat room in the left pane to expand the details.
Click on the Join button to enter.
Once you are in...
Text you type into the chat room will not appear unless the Beta Moderator explicitly approves it. This helps to facilitate a focused discussion with the project teams. If you have a question or comment relevant to the current discussion, simply type it into the chat room. When it is your turn, the Beta Moderator will approve your text and it will appear in the chat room.
The format.
At the start of chat session, the Beta Moderator will ask the project team questions.
After the team replies to each question, the Beta Moderator will allow for follow up questions from all chat session attendees. If you have a follow up question, simply type it into the room.
Once the Beta Moderator runs out of questions for the project team and there are no more followup questions, the forum will be open to more general questions from all attendees (relative to the project).
If the Beta Moderator deems appropriate, the remainder of the chat session may be unmoderated, meaning questions will no longer be subject to explicit approval from the moderator. This will allow you to speak directly to the project team in a free form format.
